Painting today and trying to work away from having a single focal point. Referencing Gillian Ayres who talks about not having one area more important than another. She also mentions over-painting successful elements for the whole painting to work. I find this very hard, loosing something which I feel works but can see how testing this can be for the greater good of the whole piece and for breaking habitual practice for me. These two paintings are a continuous evolving experiment. Over the past four weeks they have changed multiple times. I find the canvas very difficult as it is course in texture.
