Chance- Deliberate

Unplanned – Planned

Unintentional – Intentional

Reflecting on feedback from presentation and seminar referencing process, particularly focusing on process using chance or planned methodology.

How much is planned and intentional?

My intention: To paint using oil paint on gesso primed support (birch ply board and conservation card) Using a palette of tertiary tonal colours prepared for other works. Tools consist of pallet knifes of various sizes, cotton rags and nylon decorators brushes. Working on an Easel and flat surface. Select four oil sketches from previous intuitive (intentional yet spontaneous) mark making sketches. Chosen for aesthetic appeal (in my opinion). To produce a painting which incorporates the four in some way which works compositionally on a new support. I chose a 40cm square birch panel.

Making choices using intuitive mark making;

Can I reproduce an intuitive fluid painterly mark?

Combining the spontaneous and deliberate.
